What is Alumina Al2O3 ??

Aluminium oxide is an amphoteric oxide with the chemical formula Al2O3.

** Natural alumina is renowned as sapphire or

ruby, counting on the kinds of impurities which

give increase to color.

Properties of aluminium oxide!!
** Aluminium oxide is to blame for the opposition

of metallic aluminium to weathering.

** A number of alloys, such as aluminium bronzes,

exploit this house by including a percentage of

aluminium in the alloy to enhance corrosion

resistance.

** Metallic aluminium is very reactive with

atmospheric oxygen, and a slim passivation level

of alumina

types in about 100 picoseconds on any exposed

aluminium surface.

**Aluminium oxide is absolutely insoluble in water.

handicap:

** negligible skeletal part ingrowth

** Non-adherent fibrous membrane

** Interfacial failure and decrease of implant can occur.
